Cardinals

The next part in my Neighborhood Bird series, a pair of cardinals!  It only took me just over two months to do :') 

I've only done five pieces for this series so far, and there's already a big change in how I do them.  The first one was my first attempt in painting birds, then the second was expanding on that style.  The third one was where I felt like I had a good start using that same style but bit off more than I could chew with that woodpecker.  The fourth though, the dove, was a leap into a new style that is quicker, easier, and lead into what I'm using for just about everything.  The dove isn't as detailed as I would have liked it to be but that, along with my daily bird drawings that I've yet to post any of, lets me get back to crosshatching and the rough look to it all is something I enjoy.  I just hope that the trends continues and by the time I'm done with this series I'll have a more solid style.
